R & D Katz Real Estate, LLC is a privately held real estate investment, management and brokerage company based in Northbrook, Illinois. Since the opening of R & D Katz Real Estate, LLC in 2003, the company's portfolio has grown to over 50 million dollars in owned assets. Additionally, the company manages more than 425,000 square feet of retail property in several Midwest locations.
The company's main objective is to aggressively pursue shopping centers throughout the Midwest.

Daniel Katz
Dan graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a Bachelors degree in Accounting and Real Estate. After passing the CPA exam, Dan started his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLC, the world’s largest accounting firm. He specialized in complex Real Estate transactions from a federal income tax viewpoint. After two years of training, Dan received his CPA license.
In December of 2000, Dan joined General Growth Properties, the second largest owner of regional malls in the United States. Dan specialized in the financial side of acquisitions, financing, and new ventures. Dan worked closely with developers and retailers, both nationally and internationally.
Richard Katz
Rich graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelors degree in Journalism and English. He began his real estate career with the Gecan Realty Group, a small commercial and residential brokerage firm, and later moved to Coldwell Banker. In two years of brokerage, Rich closed approximately $14 million in transactions.
To complement his residential and commercial brokerage experience, Rich joined Chicago Commercial Services, a construction firm specializing in commercial and rehab developments. There Rich supervised and coordinated construction build-outs. He has managed construction projects for tenants with diverse needs and uses, such as Chernin’s Shoes, Huntington Learning Center, Rent-a-Center, and Aaron’s.
Rich also brings personal experience to R & D’s maintenance and renovation management. He has over five years of maintenance experience in apartment complexes, in addition to leading a number of highly successful rehab and resale projects.
Brett Katz
Brett graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelors degree in Agricultural and Resource Economics with a concentration in Business. Brett began his real estate career with Marcus and Millichap Real Estate Investment Brokerage Company in 2002, and joined R & D Katz Real Estate in 2006.
